Ford Performance Blue

For 2020, there are 3 blue color options available on the 2020 Shelby GT500. Ford Performance Blue, Kona Blue and Velocity Blue. Ford Performance Blue (FPB) is in the middle of the color range. We got a first glimpse of this color back in 2015 when the Ford Performance vehicle line up was announced. The Ford GT adorned a color simiar to this shade called Liquid Blue Metallic. That paint was a 6-stage paint which is very expensive. Ford Performance Blue is a derivative from that color but not as costly. This is definitely one of our top 3 color choices for the GT500.

Grabber Lime

The “Grabber” colors have always been vibrant. Grabber Lime was available on Mustang in 1971 and hasn’t made an appearance until 2020.

Iconic Silver

I have always been a silver fan. It’s super easy to keep clean and if you throw enough contrasting colors on it, it will break up the bright silver paint nicely. My 2015 Mustang GT is Ingot Silver and I was low key upset when I heard they were getting rid of it for 2020. After seeing Iconic Silver, I’m not mad at all! Iconic looks great on the Shelby GT500.

Kona Blue

Kona Blue was first introduced on the Mustang in 2010. It had a short run of only a 2 year production which ended in 2012. In 2015, Kona Blue appeared again as an optional color on the 2015 50th Anniversary Mustangs. Since then, it has been offered on the S550 chassis.

Magnetic

Magnetic is no stranger to the S550 chassis. It was first offered in 2015 and will be available on the 2020 Shelby GT500. It is the only grey color option.

Oxford White

Oxford White is a very bright and vibrant white. I could rock this color option with no stripes, Black stripes or Kona Blue stripes!

Race Red

Race Red is exactly how it sounds. Bold, loud and screams look at me I’m ready to race!

Rapid Red

Rapid Red is a new color option for 2020. Before the official release, there were rumors going around that this color was called Red Hot Metallic. Rapid Red fits much better. I have personally seen Rapid Red right beside Ruby Red. Rapid is slightly brighter and a lighter shade of red compared to Ruby Red. It’s almost the same comparison as Lightning Blue and Velocity Blue with one being almost identical but a slight shade lighter.

Shadow Black

Quoting the late, great, Henry Ford. “Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants, so long as it is black.” All Model T’s were painted black to keep the assembly line running as efficient as possible. I personally wouldn’t want to own a black Mustang because they are so difficult to keep clean. But I most certainly enjoy looking at them when they are all cleaned up!

Twister Orange

Orange Fury Metallic had a short run but it’s being replaced with Twister Orange! Twister Orange doesn’t have any metallic in the paint like Orange Fury. I’m more of a stripeless kind of guy but with this color I feel like I would need some black stripes to break up the loud paint.

Velocity Blue

2020 will be the second year of production for Velocity Blue. This is the lightest of the 3 shades of blue offered on the 2020 Shelby GT500.
