Jack Roush has been involved in the automotive industry since the mid 60’s. His career started out as an engine development engineer for Ford Motor Company. Over the years, his passion for engineering and racing were combined to create Roush Performance Engineering. The Jack Roush Edition Mustang was inspired by Jack Roush’s achievements and desire to always push the engineering boundaries when it comes to his ROUSH vehicles.

The Jack Roush Edition Mustang is the fastest production Mustang produced by ROUSH Performance since they started creating Mustangs back in 1995. It produces 775HP thanks to the ROUSH 2650 Supercharger on top of the Gen. 3 Coyote V8 engine.

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to photograph the JRE Prototype that was unveiled at SEMA. If you missed that article, check it out HERE. Fast forward several months, the serial 01 production JRE was delivered to Tindol Roush Performance in Gastonia, NC. and I wanted to share it with you all.

With only 60 Mustangs being produced, this Mustang is definitely something you won’t see very often. Each one of them comes equipped with the same options aside from your choice of transmission and seating.

01 is equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission and regular heated / cooled seats skinned in the red accents with Jack Roush’s signature embroidered in the headrests.

Some standard components include:

  • 775HP ROUSHcharged 5.0L V8
  • Powertrain Cooling Package
  • Active Aerodynamic Carbon Fiber Spoiler
  • Jack Roush Edition Graphics Package
  • R9 Aero Body Components
  • ROUSH-Calibrated MagneRide Suspension
  • ROUSH Active Exhaust w/ Resonator Delete H-Pipe
  • Diamond-Machined 20-inch Forged Wheels
  • Street Presence Exterior Lighting Enhancements
  • Engine Bay Styling Package
  • Racing Steering Wheel (Manual Transmission Only)
  • Exclusive Leather and Suede Seats

One of my favorite features on the Jack Roush Edition Mustang is the Carbon Active Spoiler. For the first time, a production Mustang has an active spoiler that changes position when you reach a specific mile per hour while driving.

Every Jack Roush Edition Mustang is signed by the man himself, Jack Roush! To own one of these iconic Mustangs, pricing starts at $50,995 on top of the cost of the base Mustang. I’ve seen most of these cost just over $100,000 depending on options.
