There’s something special about delivery day, especially when the car in question is one of the most extreme Mustangs Ford has ever built. Just a few days ago, Vaughn Gittin Jr. took delivery of his brand-new Mustang GTD in Leadfoot Grey at the RTR Lab, and we were there to experience it all.

Vaughn’s GTD is build number S025 and features the Extended Color Palette option, finished in Leadfoot Grey. This particular spec also includes the Performance Package, giving him even more track-focused performance straight from the factory. From the added front dive planes to the DRS (drag reduction system) and semi-active suspension, it’s clear this car was designed to blur the lines between street and race track

The GTD delivery process is far from your typical dealership handoff. Each car is transported by Reliable Carriers, ensuring a secure and premium delivery experience.

Part of the concierge experience includes a personal walk-through with a Mustang GTD Delivery Specialist. For Vaughn, that specialist was Bernie Martinez, who arrived with the car and spent time walking Vaughn through every detail. From operating procedures and system features to performance settings and technical components, Bernie made sure Vaughn knew everything there was to know about the car before turning the key. It’s a next-level experience that matches the level of the car itself.

As you can imagine, Vaughn was beyond excited. Getting to take delivery at the RTR Lab surrounded by the RTR team made it even more meaningful. After all, he’s spent the last two decades pushing the limits of Mustangs on track and off-road. Now, he has one of the most advanced Mustangs ever made sitting in the RTR Lab along many notable vehicles such as the RTR-X, Mustang Mach-E 1400, and his 2020 10th Anniversary Mustang RTR Spec 5 that is also Leadfoot Grey.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Vaughn Gittin Jr. car if there weren’t a few surprises down the line. Word is, he’s already planning some modifications to make the GTD his own. What do you think his first mod should be?

So, what do you think of Vaughn’s Leadfoot Grey GTD? Would you spec yours the same way, or go in a different direction?

Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more content as Vaughn gets behind the wheel and starts making this GTD his own.
