The Shelby 1000 is back! The package begins with the replacement of the stock 5.0L V8 and replaces it with a 5.2L Whipple supercharged engine. The new replacement engine comes with all forged internals, a traditional 90-degree crank, modified GT350 cylinder heads and a 4.5L Whipple supercharger mounted on top. Some additional modifications to support the extra ponies stuffed under the hood include a new high flow fuel system, intercooler, transmission, ECU and tuning.

This package starts at $169,995 (doesn’t include price of the Mustang GT) and is available for any V8 Ford Mustang built in 2015 or newer. An estimated MSRP for the Shelby 1000 is around $219,995. Only 50 per model year will be built, by either Shelby American in Las Vegas or through one of their mod shops located around the globe beginning in the first quarter of 2018. ’18 Shelby 1000 Walk Around

On the outside, the Shelby 1000 features an all-new front fascia assembly which includes a grille, cooling ducts and front splitter. It also features a completely redesigned hood, front fenders, rockers, quarter-panels, rear diffuser and exhaust to fit the custom wide body chassis.

The good folks at Shelby widen the Mustang’s front and rear track before installing a fully adjustable coilover suspension and gigantic Brembo braking system. With the wider body panels, you need a set of wide wheels and tires to fill everything out. Up front you will have 20″ x 11″ wheels and 20″ x 12.5″ wheels for the rear. Wide wheels call for some meaty rubber! Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are used front (305/30/20) and rear (345/30/20). Stronger suspension components are installed as well to handle the added horsepower. Upgrades include: spindles and hubs, hardened wheel studs, wider wheels and tires.

Shelby 1000 Exhaust

With all of those ponies under the hood, they have to escape somehow. The Shelby 1000 is equipped with a Borla exhaust system and long tube headers.
