I ask Dillon about his 3M Fiery Orange S197 Mustang

Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

A. I’m 23 years old. I got into cars when I purchased my first Mustang which was a 11′ 3.7L V6 Mustang. I didn’t really know much about cars until I joined a few Mustang forums. On the forums, I started seeing how easily you could mod Mustangs and make them your own. From that point, I had to fuel my desire so I started attending several local car shows. In high school, I was always the “quiet kid”. The more shows I attended and put myself out there with other like minded people I noticed that this helped me open up as a person.

Q. Why did you choose to get into the Mustang community?

A. I was searching online for a new car. Originally I was checking out some V6 Challengers and Camaros but noticed that the 3.7L Mustang was faster or just as fast with great gas mileage. I was leaning towards an older 4.6L Mustang GT but the new 3.7L Cyclone was just as fast as those and had more “bells and whistles”.

Q. What got you into cars originally?

A. I wasn’t really into cars until I owned the 3.7L Mustang. Becoming more active on forums and checking out YouTube videos gave me the urge to attend more car shows and events. From that, eventually the mod bug bit me and I started modifying my Mustang to my liking.

Q. Who are some people you respect in the Mustang community?

A. I respect anyone that does what they want to do for themselves and not anyone else. You see a lot of people doing certain things for likes, followers or trying to get sponsors and that’s not what it’s all about. To name some people specifically I would say Tyler Rodriquez and the guys over at LMR because they are true enthusiasts who love what they do for a living. Tyler is an all around awesome guy and is bomb AF at marketing. Also, I have to give a shout out to Chris Gibson a.k.a. @Kokaine3.7 for holding it down for all the 3.7L guys! He took that car to a whole new level!

Q. How has social media changed the car scene?

A. It’s not how it used to be when I first started on Instagram/social media for sure. I would have to say more people are “doing it for the gram” and not for themselves more often.

Q. Drake or The Weeknd?

A. That’s a tough one, as of lately, I’ll have to say The Weeknd.

Q. Do you ever miss owning your V6?

A. On occasion, based more on the appearance mods I had on the 3.7L. As far as a power aspect goes, I love the sound and power of my 5.0L Coyote!

Q. What car would you buy, for $60k or less, that isn’t a Mustang and why?

A. SHANDS down, a Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06. I like how wide they look and the small amount of money it takes to make decent power.

Q. What are your thoughts on the term “crowd killer”?

A. Considering Mustang owners were a majority of the people making those memes, we were really making fun of ourselves. It got played out within the first week but I had a few laughs here and there over them.

Q. If you could add any mod right now what would it be?

A. On3 Performance Twin Turbo Kit!

Q. Which emoji best describes your life?

A. The crying laughing emoji because I enjoy laughing and making other people laugh.

Q. What is your favorite memory you have made while being in the Mustang community?

A. There isn’t a specific time that I can think of. It’s really just hanging out with friends. When we go do photo/video shoots, hang out at meets, cruising around or chilling at the house with all of us as a group of friends that’s what it’s all about to me.

Q. What are some of your hobbies?

A. Photography, hockey and I enjoy just having fun.

Q. If there was one album you could only listen to for the rest of your life what would it be and why?

A. That would definitely be a Drake album. I would have to say, Thank Me Later.
