Mo’s 1993 Mustang Cobra packs some serious venom behind those fangs

Marty Ochs is a 54 year old attorney from New York. He currently resides in my hometown, Dallas, Ga. With Marty being the attorney he is, his duties include long hours at work leaving little time for the activities he enjoys doing. In 2003, Marty owned a Mercury Marauder that he drag raced whenever he found the time. This only fueled his passion for cars even more. He finally decided to work less and play harder! With that mindset, he purchased the 1993 Mustang Cobra and turned his home shop into a a commercial business called Mo’s Speed Shop.

Mo’s has been in business for 7 years now! Some services they offer include; carbureted tuning, fuel injection tuning (for all Ford / GM products) and dyno tuning.

What used to be Marty’s past time has now become a huge part of his life. If you have a passion for something stick with it because you never know what it may turn into! “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life” – Confucius

The exterior on the 1993 Mustang Cobra differed from the GT.  The Cobras received a narrow grille opening with a running pony emblem, a rear spoiler, different gauge cluster, Cobra snake emblems on the front fenders,  uniquely styled 17-inch aluminum wheels and an eye popping exterior color called Rio Red.

The 1993 Mustang Cobra was the first year that the SVT (Special Vehicle Team) program launched. They managed to squeeze more power out of the 5.0L V8 by adding Ford Motorsport GT-40 heads, a unique intake manifold and an aggressive camshaft. To support this extra power 4-wheel disc brakes were added, adjusted some suspension components and added a stickier tire from the factory. This specific Cobra is outfitted with a dealer installed Paxton centrifugal supercharger.

With only 19k original miles, the interior remained mostly stock and well maintained. Cobra production was limited to 4,993 during this year. The Special Vehicle Team’s goal wasn’t to set sales records. They were aiming to “polish the oval”. The ’93 Cobra set the tone for the upcoming years. The ’94 Cobra R, ’00 Cobra R, “Terminator” Cobra and Lightning all followed suit with SVT’s original purpose, polishing the oval in four areas. Performance, substance, exclusivity and value!
