2014 Saleen SA30 Mustang

The 2014 Saleen SA30 Mustang was created to commemorate Steve Saleen’s, first in class win, at the Mosport 24-hour race back in 1984. Only 10 of these Mustangs were ever produced and this is number 5 of 10.

Whether you are a die-hard Mustang enthusiast or simply enjoy cars in general, chances are that you have heard of a Saleen Mustang. Saleen is a very well known company throughout the automotive industry for providing high performance, racing-inspired body/engine/suspension components for many different vehicles. Started by Steve Saleen, the company has always gravitated towards Ford Mustangs as Steve was a Mustang enthusiast at heart.

Who is Steve Saleen?

Steve Saleen is the founder and former vice-chairman of the Saleen Inc company. He formed Saleen in 1983 and built the first Saleen Mustang which took a focus on handling, suspension, and aerodynamics. Over the years, Steve has passed down his creativity within his company to help produce some of the most stylish Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers and you can’t forget about the Saleen S7.

What is the SA-30 lineup?

The SA-30 lineup is a special edition lineup that was made to commemorate Saleen’s 30th anniversary of his first in class win. While the most iconic SA-30 was the 2014 Mustang version, there were also a 620 Camaro SA-30 and a 570 Challenger SA-30. While they were competitors on the race track, they all shared the same Saleen Racing Heritage theme. This includes a white paint job with black/grey/yellow accents, iconic to the Saleen brand.

How many SA-30 Mustangs were made?

So let’s talk about production numbers. Saleen Mustangs were always very exclusive and were produced in small batches by Saleen. However, the SA-30 was one of the most exclusive Saleen packages as there were only 30 made between the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. 10 of each were made with the SA-30 package, making it a very rare Mustang that car collectors all over the world have always tried to get their hands on.

What Options Are Found On The SA-30 Mustang?

Now the moment you have all been waiting for, what makes the SA-30 Mustang so special? In true Saleen fashion, this Mustang is unlike anything on the road. Saleen has taken the S197 and redesigned it for race-inspired looks with the power to back it up.

Starting with the exterior, the SA-30 Mustang makes a great first impression with a redesigned front bumper, an iconic Saleen grille, a ram air hood w/ functional butterfly induction, a custom Saleen rear bumper, and a unique spoiler. This is all tied together by one-off side skirts, Saleen wheels, and massive 6 piston Saleen brake calipers. Other small additions include customer rear window louvers, Saleen decals, and 30th Anniversary “Supercharged” badging. The exterior color is called Tire Smoke White.

Under the hood, you’ll find a 5.oL V8 with forged internals and topped with a Saleen Twin-Screw Supercharger that cranks out 675 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. This SA-30 is equipped with a full Saleen S4 suspension to help plant all of those ponies to the pavement. Saleen headers and 3-inch exhaust allow the exhaust gases to escape quickly.

As for the interior, you are going to get a perfect mixture of leather and alcantara that is seen in higher-end race cars. Saleen badging and Branding throughout the car brings a unique touch and a splash of yellow to offset the silver and black color scheme. Perhaps one of the most unique interior components is the rear seat delete with an exposed spare, which is something we have never seen before. Lastly, a glass roof option was chosen to add a little more spice to this one of a kind interior.
